Long Story short…
Sirena (Nee’ Jennifer Filzen) was born and raised in the suburbs of Jacksonville, Florida. Born into a musical family, she studied Opera and Jazz. Sirena’s name is Spanish for “mermaid”. It’s the name of the artist’s alter ego-a SCUBA diver who finds her strength by living near the ocean. Sirena began her songwriting career while going through a divorce in 2006.
Fans started calling Jennifer “Sirena”, so we have gone ahead and adopted the band name of Sirena as well.
While the debut CD’s theme centered around the ups and downs of divorce, the newest album, “Groovement”, is happier and makes you want to get up and dance. Sirena, who co-produced with Vince Hudson, wrote all of the songs on the album. The result is an eclectic blend of Pop, R&B, Dance, Latin, Jazz, and Hip-Hop sounds. |
